Yes Virginia, there is a Santa claus..

Well, I have to take my hat off to PD. I did b*tch about the "miscommunication" over the dispensation, so now I have to hand out the bouquets.
Today I received a call at 10.45am from our Site Supervisor, "J" to introduce himself and explain how things work. Site cut is scheduled for 11 December, retaining walls for 15,16,17 December and then the slab to be poured on January 5. (January 5? replayed message, yep definitely 5)
Unfortunately, I was earning a living at the time and it went to message bank as I did not recognise the number! Returned his call and got his message bank!

Then just after 11am, I received an email from our fabulous neighbours to tell me that SITE SCRAPE HAD STARTED!!!!

WHOOOOO HOOOOO!! Scooted up there quick smart (well as soon as I could) and snapped a few photos...

From the back of the block

From across the street

Had to get back to work and about an hour or so later the heavens opened up. Went back past with DD2 after the school pickup and they were still working in the rain. Then went up again after dinner (got my boots bogged!!) and the machine is still there, so they must have more to do tomorrow.

The way I figure it, I am on a roll so please Santa, can I please, please have a Zonda in the garage for Christmas and if that is too much, I am partial to the Murciélago.

Wohooo.... Congrats on early start and contact from your SS... :)

I can't click on your pictures and it's so small... can hardly see it >.<

So you gonna have your slab poured in Jan 5? Hmm... Wonder maybe mine would be the same too...

Since our SS never contact us, I will just rely on your SS information hahaha... for now...

Wooo Hooo, good news, Jan 5 will come by before you know. Good start for the festive season.

Oh yes...officially under way..!
Now some tips.

1. Quickly add your SS's number to your mobile's address book, because you never want to miss a call from him. I generally excuse myself from ANY meeting when PD lights up on my phone screen...!

2. Get a large carboard box to put in the back of your car. This is to store your muddy shoes, because it won't be the last time they get bogged up.

WOW....A slab going down in the first week of Jan...? Impressive.

3. Slip your SS a Coles Liquor Voucher. SS's like a drink..!

Interesting how you get a message at 10.45am saying they will start on the 11th....then 15mins later you get an email saying they have started!!! How could SS not know that??? Anyway, glad he was wrong and things are finally moving for you! Keep the camera handy and the boots at the ready. Congratulations!! Woohoo!

Well, well! I still believe in Santa after reading this post.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

I had a feeling your site scrape would occur earlier than the date PD gave you. Same happened with us. But isn't it a great surprise when something happens before you expect it?!

Laughed at Degaul's tips because I did all that too. I carry a spare pair of bog-quality shoes in my car just for my site visits. Can't find a funky pair of gumboots anywhere!

Looking forward to heaps of updates and bring on 5th January!

Cheers

Thanks everyone.

R&C, WBH, thanks I'll like to think the fund starts now.

David, I have put the boots and the cardboard box in the car and yes, his number went straight into the phone!

Hi K, yeah, I thought it was weird that he didn't know. Perhaps he booked them in and they finished early on another job?? Just glad it's started! Is your land settled yet?

Liana, I have some gorgeous boots from a shop in Eastland. It's next to ICE, really girlie shop they have cherries on them. Might be a bit far for you? Hope things are progressing at your house!

Thanks T, yep, excitment is my new middle name! I have no idea how to make the photo's bigger. Any suggestions?

Hey Newbies, yep Santa came early. Yipee! What's happening at your place now the invitations are done?
Love the cake!

M&J, looking forward to that slab party. Waiting for your site start now. Have you got a date yet?

Cheers
