Finishing off bits and pieces...

Hello all, this post is really bits and pieces.

With PCI later this week, most of the week has been spent getting bits and pieces done to finish it off. Firstly, the insulation went into the roof. Bl**dy plasterers did not tie the manhole into the frame as they are supposed to, it seems. So when the insulators climbed up into the roof, the plaster came off and one of them nearly fell through it, one of the painters told me. I know it might sound callous, but thank god it was not us trying to get into the ceiling.
I think we have been pretty lucky with just about all of the trades we have had apart from the plasterers. You can see where they have put the surround back and just left the hole in the plaster.
According to the SS, he told them last Wednesday about this and about a hole in the laundry. They were supposed to have it fixed that arvo. Then Thursday, then Friday, as the painter is coming back over the weekend for the final touch ups and it's being cleaned Wednesday.

We were there Saturday and the plaster was still not fixed in the laundry, so I don't think they have been.

Any way, enough doom and gloom, shower screens now installed... This is the bathroom, love the feature tiles!

Ensuite with shower screen installed..
Feature wall in our bedroom, Dulux Enchantress, love it!
Feature wall in the formal lounge room, Dulux Enchantress again. It's a bit dark in this picture but it is stunning against the chalkdust white architraves and the 2pac mantel.
All the outside painting has now been completed, meter box, firebox cover, lintels and the laundry door.
Alarm box which to my mind is upside down. But apparently, it does not matter????
Kitchen under cupboard lights installed. Love that splashback (any excuse for more kitchen pics LOL)
Close up of the under cupboard bench lights, I think they look really cool.
And our mirrors are all in too. Couldn't resist this one either.

Had a call on Friday from the SS to let me know that it is all on track. So, Thursday is the PCI and fingers crossed, it all seems pretty good at the moment. Assuming of course, that the plasterers eventually show up and fix things!!
Cheers all and good luck with your builds!

Oh J it's stunning!!!!!
Absolutely gorgeous!
I looooove your lounge room, what a beautiful room - that mantle is lovely. As are the bathroom and ensuites with their gorgeous feature tiles. Lol, I even love the Ironstone Laundry door!!!!
Bloody Plasterers, perhaps you got our bunch. They couldn't speak English, let alone understand it.
Fingers crossed this doesn't hold you up for too long.
3 sleeps to go, then you're on the home stretch.
Well Done!!!!

Wow, its always good to hear that they are on track isnt it?
Your splashback and feature wall in Enchantress looks stunning. The splashback colour is similar to mine, so there is a reason for me liking it as much as I like mine ;)

Just hope that the plastering issue gets sorted out before your PCI. NOT LONG TO GO NOW!!!

Hi BB, it has all come together so well! I wouldn't have been as brave as you in colour choices, I guess I'm more a plain taste sort of person.
The bathroom feature tiles go so well with the bathroom vanity and the kitchen splashback looks great.
I also love the lounge with the mantel, can imagine how cosy that's going to be.
Hope the plaster gets fixed and PCI goes well, good luck for Thursday.

Hi J,
Looks like everything is on track for PCI. A few small issues - really nothing that can't be fixed in that week before HANDOVER!!! It's so exciting, and your home looks wonderful.
We've also got a couple of minor issues, but all set for PCI on Friday. I CAN'T WAIT!!! See you on the flip side.

Hi BB, love your splashback and feature walls! The border tiles to your ensuite mirrors looks absolutely stunning!

Really not long to go and the plaster shouldn't be too hard to fix.

Good luck for PCI!

Everything looks great! Love, love, love your mantel and with the feature colour around it - beautiful!

Shame about the plasterers, there is always one dodgy trade in every house ;-)

Good luck for tomorrow. Hope everything goes well for PCI.

CDB, good luck with the PCI, hope it has gone well for you. The pictures of your place look really good, even the alarm thing. Not sure whether there is a right or wrong way up. Ours is the other way. The colour of the feature wall and the splash back look really great.

Looking forward to the next instalment.

J, thanks for your 'parting' comments on my blog. As I said, it has been great sharing our experiences, and I appreciate your comments and support.
My phone is being disconnected tomorrow, to be reconnected at the new house on Friday, but I don't know when I'll be back online.
So I will be thinking of you tomorrow, and I'm sure everything will run smoothly for you and you will be very happy in your gorgeous new home!
Cheers,
Mandy
