Slab Par-tay!!

Whoo Hoo our very own slab party!!!

Yes, the slab was poured today. With big apologies to T&L next door because they started at 6.30am this morning. Which was a bit of a rude way to wake up I think!
So, DH and the girls got there just after 8 and they finished pumping around 11.

They started at the front of the house...

Looking from garage at the front of the house across the front of the block almost half way now..
From the side of the block, getting towards the back end of the house..

Almost at the end now, just the back corner and the water tank pad to go...

Finished levelling off. This is from the rumpus room looking across the slab...

And a final picture of the slab this evening, with the boxing removed. It's pretty big! And the best bit, no slab invoice yet!!! but I am sure that PD will send the bill pretty soon and it will be big too no doubt!
No further word from the SS as yet, so hope to hear soon what will happen next, in the thrilling saga of the Chateau de BelleBeau.....

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Glad everything went to plan for you and that you didn't have any delays :-) Excitement levels must be pretty high.

Hey just realised that you will be able to take great aerial shots from T&L's upstairs rumpus ;-)

Bring on that timber!

Yay! Great stuff! Congratulations on your slab! I'm jealous...any idea where I can get one of those for myself???
Did you get to write your names in the concrete before it dried?

Thanks everyone for the interest!

Yes excitement is high HTB!! Oxygen levels are at a premium. We had a few interested onlookers from the cremorne next door, DH declined the coffee offer to "be with the action" LOL.

R&C, yes, it's almost a case of "blink and you'll miss it.

Lex, what can I say?? I felt so jealous when you started before me. I am sure we'll be twins again in the near future. No dramas with the comments, while it's good to get feedback. Really the blog is somewhere for me to get excited, most of the people I know who are not building or have not built just can't quite understand it. I am sure you know some people who are the same!

Hey Newbies, aren't you supposed to be organising a wedding? now there are pics I want to see! Hope your build is going well. Will you get handover before the wedding?

LOL K, yep, we all graffiti'd our initials into the slab. We worked out each of the bedrooms and then the kids wrote/scratched their name in the slab in their own rooms. I did warn them that we would end up with carpet over them, but not until we moved in. At least then they got excited!
Really looking forward to your building permit!! Funny how I get excited/nervous for everyone else's build too. It's like I am building about 8 houses hahaha

J,
Our permit was "supposedly" ordered over 3 months ago...we were told it would take about a week. And now we find out they STILL don't have it! Go figure...I feel a repeat performance of your council/dispensation issue coming on!

Oh, you are the proud owners of a new (not so) baby slab. The ride now begins guys, Well done.
Shame on PD for delaying that invoice. You normally receive it before the last cement truck has driven away...

Hi M&J, LOL Puffing Billy here we come!

Yes, WBH, we are wrapt to say the least! When things are happening so fast, it's a bit of a let down when a day goes by and nothing happens. It's sooo frustrating!

Hey DeGaul, yes I have read about people getting invoices before the slab was poured, but we still have not got an invoice! Perhaps they are still on holidays??

Got my fingers crossed for you and your family K, hope you get good news soon.

Cheers
J
