This is from the front of the block, we'll have 6.3 metres from the footpath.
As you can see in the picture below, we'll have 6.2 metres from the back of the house to the fence. That "bit" hanging off the end is the slab for the rainwater tank.
This is from the front corner looking towards the back, it was the only way we could get it all in.
We met our building inspector, Peter today on site. He seems a very nice bloke and was able to explain a few things to us. He was very approachable and knowledgeable too. Really happy and would recommend him to anyone else considering an inspector along the way.
Tomorrow, they pour the slab! Most of the family is going to watch, but I have to work, someone has to pay for this after all. So, tomorrow for your viewing pleasure, slab photos (we hope!!!)

Hi BB, good to see someone at a similar stage in building to us. Congratulations on the slab - very exciting news! You really are filling up the block aren't you??!! That is huge! I just wanted to let you know that I will be keeping an eye on your blog to see how you're doing. Mandy
Another great post and Update!

CDB, congratulations on the progress to the slab box stage. Moving along real quick. Amazing how big it looks on the block.
R&C
Hi J,
My god, it is huge!!! The garage looks especially big...how much did you extend it by?
That "bit" hanging off the end for the rainwater tank...isn't that where your window to the WIR would be? Or did you move or remove that window?
Such a shame that you will miss the pouring of the slab, but as you said, someone has to pay for this costly exercise, and I'm sure you'll be receiving that first invoice VERY shortly!
Hope you can pop over after work to see the finished product for yourself!
K.
Hi K,
I am going to go after work, although my kind family did txt me some pictures. We are having a spa in the enauite so there are no windows in the WIR. Yes, that is where it is sitting.
Stand by for the next update, later tonight after I graffiti my name in the slab!
ANY NEWS for you yet???
cheers
J
Great stuff! Hope the slab was poured today, weather was good for it. Enjoy, very exciting time.
Oh and nice neighbours house btw hehehe
Wow BB, seems like you will be catching up with us in no time now, and who knows that you get the handover early too. lol Am i thinking way too ahead? Nevermind, we want the slab pics!!!!
Hi J,
Nope, no news for us yet. :-(
And apparently they don't even have a building permit for us...the bank has requested a copy, and when I asked for one today I received a reply saying it wasn't through...although according to our 24-7 site it has been through for ages! Confusing! I guess though that we are still away off.
Oh, and I would have swapped a window in the WIR for a bath in the ensuite in a FLASH had I of known it was option, so well done to you!
thanks all for the interest :)
Nice to see you Mandy, your rowland is certainly going up fast.
Thanks Swaney3
Yes it does look big R&C, it's a bit overwhelming at this stage. Although at different points, I am sure it will look small too.
Hi Toni, yes it is exciting. The cremorne was just the place to be this morning upstairs games room (?) overlooks our block so the kids could watch.
WBH, I so want to catch you LOL!! Funny the house across the street was scraped three weeks before us and they have not had their slad poured yet. I am sure it will slow down at some point (bugger!) LOL
K, we got the building permit in two days. It was the council dispensation that took weeks. Weird!
Hope you all like the slab pics!
Cheers
J
